Obviously, Charlie was very pleased to do so and to meet Frances who runs the Centre and our friend Luke who helps out. The workshop was very well attended and everyone had a good time, a lovely lunch and a couple of finished paintings to take home.

The Centre is a great space for a workshop (but can be used for many other functions as well, including yoga).

Lunch was very welcome!

Two of the finished paintings by the participants.

We also found out about another new venture nearby.

After years of lying dormant and falling into disrepair the Old Miners Bath House in North Broomhill is getting life breathed into it once more.

The iconic red bricked building built in the late 50’s for miners and their families to shower in has been bought privately and is taking on a new lease of life. Artists are taking up residence in the building and the owner is keen to develop the site as an artists hub. Already a print-maker, sculptor, sign writer, carpenter and  glass artist have moved in.

Google The Old bath House for artists’ details.
