Charlie was on TV live on Monday 10th September on the Hochanda arts and crafts shopping channel. Once in the morning 11am and again in the afternoon 3pm.
Sky Channel 673, Freesat Channel 817, Freeview Channel 85
He was demonstrating Daler Rowney products in his own unique manner!
You can catch up at www.hochanda.com if you missed the live show.
The painting holiday in France was, as usual, a great success. Judging by some of the snaps that were taken, a certain amount of booze was consumed!
Both at the nearby cafe, as well as at night in the restaurant.
But in spite of, or because of, the merrymaking, some lovely paintings were produced.
and the picture.
And another one…
Charlie was at the SAA on Friday 31st August for a WORKSHOP. It will be available to view on the SAA website.
This is the link for more details. Click here
Here is the workspace all ready to go.
He will be doing another workshop for the SAA on Dec 6th 2018.
Look for this box at the bottom of the SAA webpage or click on the box here.
The August workshop has finished. Four days of painting castles, boats and beaches. The weather was very changeable but the painters were able to paint outdoors some of the time.
The paintings were varied over the four days. These are Charlie’s versions but they were all excellent.
For the last lunch we had fish and chips (with mushy peas) from the local chippy. Delicious!!

Charlie was at the Ilkley Art Show on Friday and Saturday (10th/11th August 18) demonstrating all day.
Some photos of the event below.
The Show was very well attended in spite of rain on the Friday.
Charlie was so tired after two days of demonstrating, he not only had to have wine (!) with his evening meal but also a large pudding.
In July Charlie was in a hot studio, preparing his next book for Search Press.
This is the process…..
Charlie is painting under the hot lights (in the hot weather!)
While someone is on the computer, taking down his words to go with each picture.
At the same time, a photographer is taking step-by-step snaps.
Here is a bit of a taster!
And this one, sure to be a hit with Frank and Bert.
This book will be out next year.
With Patchings over, Charlie was off to take a workshop in Terling at the Butterfly Studio in Flacks Green.
He packed the car
and set off. It was really hot so the painters (and Charlie) struggled.
But they soldiered on
and this was the result.
Charlie was at Patchings Art Festival in Calverton, Nottingham from 12/07/18 to 15/07/18.
Click here to see the website for the festival.
It looked a lot different when the festival opened.
It was incredibly hot at Patchings, especially in the tents. so Charlie painted a snow scene to cool everyone down, including himself.
Here is Charlie at work!
Some people couldn’t get tickets so they had to watch from outside the tent.
Others were looking at Daler Rowley materials in the show tent.
It was a very busy and successful show. If you missed it this year try and get there in 2019.
I’m sure you’ll recognise the scenario!
